According to death certificate (date 20 January) he was a retired Lt. Colonel. Also a note added to Death Certificate on 30 January that name should read Hugh Sommerville 'Sawyer' Burney.
His death was reported by Frank Richardson of 28 Golden Square. (He was a witness to Hugh's father's will)
