Henry Woollcombe

He was a Doctor of Medicine, Edinbugh, and afterwards took Holy Orders and was Rector of Highampton, and later of Pillaton in the County of Cornwall, 19 January 1807 until his death in 1816. Among Ashbury papers is a letter dated July 18 1776 from Henry Woollcombe. There is an address in it. He refers to his father and his brother John. In a PS he refers to drawing £30 as allowance for the quarter. I conclude he was studying medicine in Edinburgh. (CLW) Buried at Pillaton 5 April 1816, in th church of which place there is a monument to his memory:- 'Sacred to the memory of the Revd Henry Woollcombe M.D. late rector of this parish who died the 30 March 1816 aged 63'
