Robert Woollcombe

He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he obtained a prize in Feudal and English Law. BA 1878, MA 1881 and Doctor of Laws. Member of the Senate of the Univeristy of Dublin. Fellow of the Imperial Institute and Fellow of the Royal Irish Academy. He was called to the Irish bar in 1876. Appointed Chief Clerk to the King's Bench Division, Dublin, 10th July 1919. From a newspaper cutting: "Death of Dr. R. L. Woollcombe The death is announced of Dr. Robert Lloyd Woollcombe, M.A., LL.D., which occured at his home, 14 Waterloo Road, Dublin yesterday. Dr. Woollcombe had been Chief Clerk of the Irish King's Bench Division for many years and was one of the best known officials at the Four Courts. He had the reputation of being one of the greatest authorities on King's Bench procedure and was a member of the Senate of Dublin University." The cutting is undated and untitled.
