Frances Fendall
Came to New Zealand with her father on the Rose of Sharon in January, 1853. She kept house for her father and borthers until she was married. She was married at the little church in the Heathcote Vallley in Christchurch by her father, who sometimes took services there. After her marriage she lived in Timaru at "Ashbury" for the rest of her life.
She opened the first Sunday school in her own home, starting with 11 children. It grew into the large Waimataitai Sunday School. Her daughters Katherine and Frances taught there.
